These three requests all have to do with the petitions of men. God moves from the object of our prayers to the subject of our prayers. We have asked Him to act on His behalf and now we are asking Him to act on our behalf.

The invocation and the first three petitions give us the right priorities, for we are less likely to pray frivolously or selfishly for God’s will if we have first, and foremost glorified God as “Father” and entreated Him to bring His kingdom to earth.

Many don't know how to pray or what to pray for. In Matthew 6:9-15 Jesus teaches his disciples how to pray "The Lord's Prayer."
